A good protein bar November 11, 2006 MJA (Philadelphia) 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
A very good protein bar. The cookies and cream is very tasty, yet it is not too sweet. I find that the Builder's Bar has one big advantage over the regular Clif Bar (other than the protein of course): the Builder's Bar isn't super sweet. I really enjoy the regular Clif Bar but sometimes it leaves me feeling like I just ate a really sweet candy bar. The Builder's Bar doesn't suffer from that. The downside to the Builder's Bar, however, is that it does have a bit of saturated fat. In sum, not a bad bar and much tastier than many of the other protein bars I have tried.
Best of the Best December 2, 2004 Michael W. Maas (Milwaukee, WI) 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
Boy I thought the regular clif bars were great. These builder bars are out of this world! This is the entirely natural, delicious energy, which I prefer at breakfast, or when driving for several hours. Everytime I eat one, my body thanks me :) You can find the bars at lower prices elswhere, such as yahoo, but I shop here all the time too. If you're looking for something nutricious, and really, truly, does taste good, these Clif bars are great. I'm taking a nutrition class right now, and this bar is dynamite. 20 grams of protein is about 1/3 the protien you need for the day. Have a deli sandwhich for lunch, some rice or pasta with a chicken breast for dinner, and you have your great tasting diet. I'm in college, and I am overly satisfied with the quality of these bars. The cookies n cream is the best, then chocolate, and finally pb, all of which are good. enjoy.
My New Favorite Snack August 31, 2007 Creighton Yost (Seattle, WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I used to be all over the peanut butter ones, as in the past the mint ones were funky tasting - too minty. Now, I'm a fan of the mint ones. My guess is they adjusted the formula and the mint is where it should be.
Beats the hell out of the big-brand competitors October 25, 2007 M. Jones (San Diego) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I switched from PowerBar products when I started reading the ingredients, and realized they use refined sugars, which anybody that has an active lifestyle and takes their health seriously knows, it's one of the worst things you can eat before or during exercise. Clif bars (at least the ones I've eaten) use brown rice syrup, which is still sweet, but doesn't jack up your blood sugar and cause you to crash halfway through a run.
They also taste amazingly good. Almost good enough to be eaten as a candy bar, they're just not as sweet or fatty.
Also, they don't contain milk/whey protein, which is a plus if you're like me (allergic). For this reason, there are a couple competitors that use natural ingredients that I never tried, so I can't judge them, but considering my requirements for a bar (healthy with no refined sugars, no dairy, and great taste), this is the only company that's met my standards.
The nice thing is that while they use higher quality ingredients, their prices don't reflect it, at least not relative to similar bars.
I just hope they never sell out and start using junkfood ingredients.
Tastes Like Candy February 10, 2010 Priscilla Grant (Riverside, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is probably the best protein bar I've ever had. I'm just so used to so many of them tasting like crap, and not even working well. This was quite the turn around. It tastes good and gives me the energy I need to run and work out to my full potential. I definitely recommend these, they are delicious! I can hardly believe they help build muscle, taste like it should just be candy.
